The Italian tradition of Aperitivo is a popular occasion that brings friends together to relax and socialise. It combines delicious, bite-sized food with refreshing, light alcoholic drinks, and is based around the values of conviviality, sharing, generosity, and gioia di vivere (the joy of life). The mood of Aperitivo bars is social, buzzy and relaxed.
“The Aperitivo activation brought the personality and premium positioning of Peroni Nastro Azzurro to life, and generated new consumption occasions, creating added value for customers.
To bring authenticity to the sumptuous Italian food-beer pairing experience, celebrated and award-winning Milanese chef Giorgio Nava, who runs four successful restaurants in Cape Town, led the team of chefs; among whom were Italian born executive chef, Claudio Uccello and upcoming pastry chef Lucky Mashudu Masinya.
Held together by the seasoned MC Janez Vermeiren, guests at the Aperitivo launch saw two celebrities participating in a live cook off.
The South African Aperitivo Peroni campaign was a tailored version of a Global campaign, which ported Peroni’s South African objective to support draught and position Peroni as the perfect beer to enjoy with food.
By bringing this enjoyable Italian tradition to the world, Peroni Nastro Azzurro helps to recreate a piece of Italy in bars and restaurants, transforming the atmosphere and making the whole experience that little bit more stylish and authentically Italian.
